A moving company site outside Washington: services × areas, quotes online

The task
VanGuard Moving Express moves homes and offices across Northern Virginia, Washington DC and Southern Maryland. In this market nobody searches for "a moving company" — they search for "movers in Arlington" or "commercial moving Fairfax", a query welded together from a service and a place. A single services page cannot answer demand shaped like that; each combination needs a landing page of its own.
What we did
We laid the catalogue out in tiers: local and commercial moving, and inside each one separate pages for labour-only crews, one-or-few-pieces moves, corporate relocation and small offices. Every page carries its city in the heading — "Local Moving in Fairfax, VA".
- A separate branch for areas served: Northern Virginia, Washington DC and Southern Maryland, each with its own page and links back into the services.
- MovingCompany markup with the address, opening hours and the list of cities, so Google reads the site as a local business and knows where it operates.
- A quote request with Google Places address autocomplete and on-site estimate booking. GTM and GA4 are wired so leads are counted rather than lost between the form and the phone.
- WordPress on a bespoke theme with LiteSpeed caching: the company runs its own services, blog and testimonials.
The result
The site answers demand at the service-plus-area level: every service and every area served has a page with a heading built for the query, and a quote is filed online and lands in analytics. The company publishes its blog, testimonials and job openings without a developer.
